On July 7, 2019, AYLUS members Jerry Gu and Luxin Peng helped C.A.R.E. founder, Peter Hwang, to retrieve dozens of American flags that were planted along Bellaire Boulevard for the 4th of July.
From 8:30 to 11:00 AM, armed with metal wrenches and high spirits, our volunteers toiled strenuously under the hot Texan sun to retrieve upwards of 50 U.S. flags. After much blood, sweat, and tears (along with plenty of ant bites!), our volunteers were finally able to pat themselves on the back for a job well done. Great work volunteers!
