Edison Branch, June 9th, 2019
The AYLUS Edison Branch conducted the Volunteer Social Community Event at New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home on June 9th, 2019. There’s Flag Day and Army Birthday Ceremony. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14. The United States Army also celebrates the U.S. Army Birthdays on this date. Zhuocheng Prince Hu, Xin Chen, Peini Angela Hu, Qin Zhang and Anmei Deng went to the Veteran memorial Home and shared the news with the seniors veterans and their families, talked about the stories of flag and army. They transported the disabled seniors to the town square before Flag Day and Army Birthday Ceremony started. The soldiers start a patriotic pageant, displayed the American Flag, attend a flag burning ceremony. Then the people enjoyed the music and talking. Finally they transported the seniors back respectively. Anmei Deng was responsible for taking pictures during the afternoon. The AYLUS Edison Branch are happy to share the Flag Day ceremony and Army history with the community and appreciate the stories of the elderly.
