Greater Princeton AYLUS (GPA) Team Leader Steven Chi was recently selected as an assistant coach for one of the four “LEGO Robotics Team” in the West Windsor Plainsboro (WWP) School District. Steven is glad to have such an opportunity to serve his school community. Steven Chi spent 2.5 hours to coach the LEGO Robotics Team on January 13th, and he is scheduled to volunteer as an assistant coach for 2.5 hours on the weekly basis each Sunday going forward. Way to go, GPA Team Leader Steven Chi!
Information Provided by Steven Chi:
Last week, the coach gave an assignment to create a race car using the robot parts to go as fast as they could around a track created out of cardboard. The coach explained that transferring power from the motor to a big motor to a small motor, explaining that this gears it up, and since the small gear has fewer pegs, it would rotate faster and make the wheel spin faster as well.
On Sunday, the thirteenth of January, four WWPESA FLL LEGO Robotics teams continued their spring project. I taught the members something new and helped them improve with the critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The teams finished building their robots and started programming their robots to run laps around the track. The teams programmed and even held the first race (check the photos and video!).
