Greater Princeton AYLUS (GPA), NJ Branch, has many talented members. Since December 11th, 2018, we started to feature some of them on our web page, so all GPA members get to know each other. Hopefully, it would also help with more constructive and collaborative teamwork among GPA members in our volunteer activities! So here comes one of our proud members Allen Zhang:
Self-Introduction Provided by Allen Zhang:
My name is Allen Zhang, and I am a freshman at West Windsor High School South in New Jersey.
I love science, especially natural sciences. I am honored to be admitted to my school Science Olympiad Team (Herpetology: the study of reptiles and amphibians) in the freshman year. I started to like herpetological species when I was a toddler, and now I am lucky to have the opportunity to show the world my love and knowledge for Herpetology.
Meanwhile, I am playing the euphonium as the Principal Player in my school band and the Youth Orchestra of Central Jersey. I also participate in a swimming team to improve my technique and skills and to maintain good health. I like playing volleyball as well. I am pretty good at serving and spiking!
In the past, I volunteered to play the euphonium several times in the Plainsboro Senior Center and Merwick Care and Rehabilitation Center. I was very touched to see how joyful the seniors were when they heard us playing music for them. I wished to have more time to share my love for music with more people.
I’m joining GPA because I wanted to get more opportunities to help serve our community, and to hopefully put a change to the world we all love. I am confident that I can help our community in a positive way!
