On December 14th, 2018, students from the San Diego Branch of AYLUS organized and participated in the 57th Computer for Kids Lab, repairing and cleaning electronic devices in order to prepare them to send to children of low-income families. This helps the kids achieve academic success through possible access to technology.
The participants did the following:
- 76 Hard Drives removed from Laptops & Desktops
- 208 Keyboards cleaned and ready for Distribution
So far, the San Diego branch students have accomplished the following since the first Computer for Kids Lab of this year:
- Diagnosed, repaired, tested, or sleeved 4,482 notebooks/netbooks/laptops/tablets/desktops
- Tested and repaired 296 LCD monitors
- Diagnosed, tested, wiped, counted, and cloned 4,069 hard drives
- Wrapped, folded, sorted, and packed 11,745 mice/keyboards/power cords/adaptors/batteries
- Tested and Bagged 125 Speakers
