East Cobb Branch Participated in Winter Break Feeding Program II

On January 2nd, 2018, three members from the East Cobb Branch of AYLUS participated in the Winter Break Lunch Program at the local YMCA to provide meals for kids who depended on school lunches for meals. Since it was break, the kids were not able to receive school lunches, so the YMCA Lunch Outreach Program provides them meals.

Members of the East Cobb Branch first went to the local YMCA to help make and pack the lunches. Members made turkey and cheese sandwiches, packed carrots and animal crackers into small bags, and put them into paper bags along with other nutritious snacks for the kids. Members worked hard to quickly pack the lunches, so they could hand them out to the children on time. After helping to pack 225 lunches for the children, members went on a bus to go to the locations to hand the lunches out. Because there were several extra lunches left, members gave the remaining lunches to a man that had many grandchildren to feed and would help to continue handing some out.

Attendance: Howard Hua (3 hours), Kevin Shen (3 hours), Cynthia Ruan (3 hours)
