Chapel Hill Branch Performed at Senior Living Center on November 17

During today’s visit, we did many enjoyable activities with the seniors at the Brookdale retirement home. We made crafts, told heartwarming stories, sang along to many catchy tunes and shared our musical instrumental talent with them. We played The Blue Danube, Colors of the Wind and Tomorrow. The seniors especially enjoyed The Blue Danube; they were singing along and clapping the beat and Marie, one of the seniors was playing a tambourine, getting more involved with the musical process. During this visit, we also decided to get them in a Thanksgiving spirit by making hand-turkeys. The seniors liked the creativity of the project, and were proud of their art. They also enjoyed hearing a pleasant Thanksgiving story while designing their turkey. We ended this visit with a sing-along of Amazing Grace and Do Lord. The seniors sang proudly in both songs as the music played on. The visit was a success and we are all excited to go back for another joyous experience.
