The AYLUS Dix Hills Branch volunteers at Sunken Meadow State Park to help clean up invasive mugwort

The AYLUS Dix Hills Branch volunteers at Sunken Meadow State Park to help clean up invasive mugwort. Volunteers used various tools such as rakes and shovels to help dig up the invasive species in order to hinder its spread. Several bags were filled with the mugwort, and other helpful plants in the area were not disturbed. Invasive species spread swiftly, so it was crucial to dig out even isolated small saplings such that the mugwort would not be able to reproduce as prominently. Volunteers worked from 9:30 to 12:00 to help get rid of mugwort scattered around.
Volunteers: Bryan Fan (3 hrs) and Jonathan Fan (2.5 hrs).
