On September 1st, 2018, students from the San Diego Branch of AYLUS organized and participated in the 42nd Computer for Kids Lab, repairing and cleaning electronic devices in order to prepare them to send to children of low-income families. This helps the kids achieve academic success through possible access to technology.
The participants did the following:
- 2 Laptops Hardware Tested and Prepared for Distribution
- 1049 VGA, DVI, and Power Cords Sorted
- 16 Hard Drives Removed from Servers and Caddies
So far, the San Diego branch students have accomplished the following since the first Computer for Kids Lab of this year:
- Diagnosed, repaired, tested, or sleeved 3,793 notebooks/netbooks/laptops/tablets/desktops
- Tested and repaired 167 LCD monitors
- Diagnosed, tested, wiped, counted, and cloned 3,344 hard drives
- Wrapped, folded, sorted, and packed 9,560 mice/keyboards/power cords/adaptors/batteries
- Tested and Bagged 125 Speakers
