On the 24thand 25thof August, 2018, the Pearland branch participated in the packing and distribution of school supplies at Forest Brook Middle School, an annual event hosted by C.A.R.E.
On the first day, AYLUS Pearland members worked hard, packing and organizing backpacks of all grade levels so they were ready for to be distributed the next day.
After kicking off the second day with performances, including a Lion dance, a local dance group, and some performances by AYLUS members, the organization prepared to sign kids off to pick up supplies. AYLUS set up a process where they worked with the school teachers to sign Pre-K and Kindergarteners off in order for them to pick up supplies. AYLUS worked as a team; they split up responsibilities and distributed backpacks to the crowd as quickly and efficiently as possible. In total, AYLUS distributed over 200 backpacks.
The volunteers were: Ben Liang, Andy Jiang, Brian Liu, Jayden Lu, Karen Lu, Jason Ren, Kevin Ren, Thomas Liang, Edward Qi, Eric Qi, Richard Kuzmenko, Carol Li, Allen Jiang, Bryan Li, Aila Jiang, Kevin Song, Baron Niu, Zhiyin Yu, Jiangong Niu, Xiaotong Song, and Andy Gu.
