On July 28th, 2018, students from the San Diego Branch of AYLUS organized and participated in the 32nd Computer for Kids Lab, repairing and cleaning electronic devices in order to prepare them to send to children of low-income families. This helps the kids achieve academic success through possible access to technology.
In two hours, the participants did the following:
319 Sleeved Tablets
1100 Boxed Tablet adapter
So far, the San Diego branch students have accomplished the following since the first Computer for Kids Lab started:
- Diagnosed, repaired, tested, or sleeved 2,411 notebooks/netbooks/laptops/tablets/desktops
- Tested and repaired 74 LCD monitors
- Diagnosed, tested, wiped, counted, and cloned 2,870 hard drives
- Wrapped/folded, sorted, and packed 5,481 mice, and power cords/adaptors
- Tested and Bagged 125 Speakers
The following volunteers participated: Anthony Jiang, Claire Jiang, Victor Ku, William Lai, Andric Li, Chengda Li, Chengming Li, Michael Ma, Andrew Peng, Lucy Ren, Joshua Trost, Samuel Xiong, Eric Xu, and Spencer Zhang.
