On 7/21/18 Nicholas Vincent, Kevin Shen, Jonathan Wang, and Susanna Huang volunteered at Minicon at Sewell Mill Library & Cultural Center. We arrived before the event started to help check all the vendors and artists into the event. The event started at 1 and lasted until 6. The event was filled with fun activities from learning about the art of painting to discovering the process that Tanya Woods, an award winning cosplayer, went through to help make costumes for the movie Black Panther. We helped out hand flyers and guide visitors. The visitors had a blast learning and having fun at all the vendors’ and artists’ stations.
Also, from superheroes to fantasy creatures, attendees marveled at the dedication and creativity displayed by cosplayers. Among all these, a cosplayer stands out is by meticulously crafting their cosplay with impeccable attention to detail and a mesmerizing portrayal of the character they embody. For instance, incorporating a Katana sword into the cosplay of a skilled warrior adds an extra layer of authenticity and brings the character to life. This attention to artistry and craftsmanship highlights the commitment of cosplayers in creating visually striking and faithful representations of their chosen characters.
