Jun 06&07, 2018, Students in the East Cobb Branch participated in the YMCA Summer Lunch Outreach Program by packing and serving lunch to children. Our students went to different locations and served healthy and enjoyable lunches to the community’s children. Jonathan Wang packed 46 lunches by himself on Jun 07, it was a big challenge to him, and he made a great achievement.
Our students set up tables and an assembly line to make sure each child had a complete lunch. Students also set out mats for the children to eat lunches on. We got to help the children who don’t always have the access of having a healthy meal after school. The program gives volunteers an opportunity to learn about and help these children.
Our students enjoy helping the community through this program. The students get to meet new people and help them out. Members of the East Cobb Branch are sent out every week to participate here.
The members who participated were Maxwell Jiang(2 hours), Cynthia Ruan(2hours), Jonathan Wang(4 hours), Kathrine Sha(2 hours), Alex Lunn(2 hours), and Isabel Zhou(2 hours).
