Nov 17, 2017, East Cobb Branch of AYLUS had its East Cobb Mathlets group study after middle school released. In 2 hours math tutoring, Raymond Jiang (President, the right one) and Russel Emerine(Community Outreach Officer, the left one) reviewed Mathcounts Chapter questions with students from 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.
Raymond Jiang, the president of East Cobb Branch of AYLUS, founded the East Cobb Mathlets club since August 2016. He teaches middle school math to all level students on every Friday afternoon 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm during the school year. He uses his community club house as classroom. The students size is 15-20 students in 2016-2017 school year.
The mission of this program is to inspire and motivate students with the desire to learn actively, and build up their academic potential in STEM. In addition, the service also helps tutors to get a better understanding of the materials that he/she teaches. The experience benefits to both tutors and the students. It is a mutual enjoying progress.
