On September 9th, 2017, AYLUS Pearland participated in the second day of school supply distribution at William Sutton Elementary School.
The afternoon kicked off with special performances from CARE and FASCA, getting many of the students and volunteers pumped up. Then the organization began to sign and send kids off to pick up their backpacks and supplies.
17 Aylus volunteers divided into four groups, each group helping a specific grade level from PreK to 2nd grade. Aylus volunteers split up the work and responsibilities, making the whole process run smoothly and efficiently. In total, our members were able to distribute around 700 backpacks.
The smiles from the kids faces as they carried their new backpack and supplies will be treasured for a lifetime. Ultimately, the Aylus members were very proud and satisfied with the events enormous success.
The volunteers were: Ella Chen, Ethan Chen, Alexander Guo, Andy Gu, Allen Jiang, Benjamin Liang, Thomas Liang, Daniel Ling, Edwin Ling, Karen Lu, Alex Miao, Vidya Muthupillai, Aruna Muthupillai, Kevin Song, Luxin Peng, Emily She, Nicholas Zhang
