AYLUS Metro Detroit branch member Brenden Niu participated in the Grace Centers of Hope kitchen volunteer shift on January 30, 2024. Grace Centers of Hope is a non-profit organization which aims to help those who suffer from alcohol/substance abuse, domestic abuse, poverty, and other life threatening circumstances. It helps them by giving them a home, food, and a community to work and be with. The organization holds these individuals as its residents, and it has created many apartment complexes and housing complexes to accommodate for them. It’s made kitchens, churches, and other establishments to help its residents. The organization has also made a program which helps the residents to re-integrate themselves back into society. It gives them new skills and tools that they can use to survive in the world. The organization holds regular volunteer shifts on their website for volunteers to work alongside with residents.
