University of Michigan Branch: Our First Campaign to Start Fundraising for COVID Relief in Zambia

The world recovery process from COVID-19 has rapidly accelerated particularly with the rise in vaccination rate. However, it is worth noting that vaccine distribution is certainly not uniform across the world with poorer regions (particularly the African continent) struggling to distribute vaccines among their population thereby hindering their ability to recover.

By partnering with fundraising groups connected with the UN, our hope is to help raise awareness regarding this inequality and to contribute in providing financial assistance to Zambia. We will conduct in person (posting flyers around our Ann Arbor campus) and online methods (reaching out via social media platforms) to then donate the earnings to the fundraising team. We are happy to start this campaign as our first and plan to make it a success!
