As the new school year approached, AYLUS Morris Branch partnered with Helping Hands NPO to support its Back-to-School Drive, helping local children prepare for a successful academic year. Understanding that many families face financial challenges when purchasing school supplies, AYLUS members came together to contribute new backpacks so students could begin the school year with confidence and the essential items they need.
In the days leading up to the first day of school, members coordinated the donation effort by purchasing and preparing six brand-new backpacks. Each backpack was carefully selected to be durable, practical, and suitable for students of different ages. The donation reflects AYLUS’s ongoing commitment to supporting educational opportunities and reducing barriers for children in the community.
On Friday, August 28, at 1:00 p.m., AYLUS Morris Branch members delivered the six new backpacks to the Helping Hands Family Center. The backpacks were received by the organization’s staff and will be distributed to children and families participating in the Back-to-School Drive. Although modest in number, each backpack represents encouragement, care, and the community’s shared commitment to helping students begin the new school year prepared and inspired.
This project also provided an opportunity for AYLUS members to practice compassion, teamwork, and civic responsibility. By working together with Helping Hands, members experienced firsthand how even small acts of service can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. The partnership highlights the importance of community collaboration in supporting local families and ensuring that every child has access to basic school necessities.
AYLUS Morris Branch is grateful to Helping Hands for the opportunity to participate in this meaningful initiative and looks forward to continuing its partnership through future community service projects. Together, organizations and volunteers can create a positive impact and help students start the school year ready to learn, grow, and succeed.
