AYLUS Basking Ridge weekly iPAD club to Fellowship village on 6/27/26

Today at Fellowship village, volunteers helped seniors with a variety of technology questions. One senior had just received their first phone and needed help learning the basics of using it, including messaging, making phone calls, searching the internet, and navigating settings. Volunteers also answered questions about how to close the YouTube app after watching a video, explaining how to pause the video and swipe up to exit the application. Other questions included what the red numbers above the voicemail icon meant, how to increase the phone’s volume using the side buttons, and how to edit photos in the Photos app. Volunteers also helped a senior learn how to forward text messages on an Android phone by demonstrating the forwarding feature.

At today’s tech session, volunteers not only helped seniors become more comfortable with their devices but also built meaningful connections through patient guidance and conversation. By answering a wide range of questions and walking seniors through each step, volunteers helped increase their confidence in using technology. Many seniors expressed their appreciation for the support and left the session feeling more comfortable using their phones.
