Today at Ridge Oak, volunteers answered many different questions that seniors had. This included seniors with questions on how to remove the scan text button while viewing a photo, which the volunteer helped to solve with the help of ai. There were also questions on how to delete messages history. There was a problem of not being able to open videos in WeChat, which the volunteer couldn’t answer, but will try to get back to next time. There was also an issue with the apple watch not connecting to the senior’s phone, which volunteers helped solve by restarting their apple watch.
At today’s tech session, both seniors and volunteers felt more connected to each other, and understood what it meant to be a community. Other than just helping with technology, volunteers also bonded with seniors over common interests and introduced the AYLUS organization to them. After the technology helped, many of the seniors left with smiles and thanks towards the volunteers.
