On April 18th, members of the Syosset AYLUS joined the Long Island Native Plant Initiative (LINPI) to assist with their support for local environmental initiatives. We spent the day inside, working with removing seeds from mature plants to increase the amount of inventory. We used a technique where we scraped sticks of a plant against a plastic bin, which allows the seeds to fall through. Some members also spent their day outside, cleaning weeds and foreign objects from potted plants.
