On January 31st, members of the Syosset AYLUS joined the Long Island Native Plant Initiative (LINPI) to assist with their support for local environmental initiatives. Members also assisted with removing seeds from the mature plants by scraping the seeds with a grater. This creates a larger supply of these seeds. Today, volunteers finished this species of seeds, and next week we will be moving onto a different species. We assisted this process by creating a fresh batch of soil.
