West Essex AYLUS members are working to introduce academic trivia games such as Quiz Bowl to younger audiences and provide them with opportunities to interact with and learn. International Academic Competitions (IAC) runs a variety of buzzer-based trivia events focused on different categories of knowledge, such as History Bee, Geography Bee, and Science Bee. These competitions offer an environment that empowers students by encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and rapid recall of knowledge across these subjects. AYLUS West Essex members experienced with playing in IAC competitions and handling the complicated registration process of such tournaments used their expertise to handle individual registrations on the behalf of interested elementary/middle schoolers over the course of several weeks. Then, AYLUS West Essex members accompanied these first-time players to a tournament at Ridgewood High School, staying through the entire day-long tournament to give advice and answer any questions about the tournament participation process they had.
