The AYLUS Lake Washington Branch successfully hosted six sessions of the AMC8 Prep Camp in January led by instructor Jiayi Joey Zhu, with assistance from Elissa Song, Xiao Mao, Kerui Xu.
day 4: On the 18th of January 2026, AYLUS’s Hand in Hand We Code project hosted its third AMC 8 Prep camp, with project lead Joey and TA Xiao. They did a walkthrough of some more basic AMC 8 practice problems, covering a variety of topics such as measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode), simple geometry (angles, shapes, area, perimeter), sequences, and some simple algebra. The class was 1.5 hours long, and gave the students good insight into geometry and algebraic topics. Jiayi also spent additional time on Q&A and homework correction.
Jiayi Joey Zhu: 2.5 hours
Xiao Mao: 1.5 hours
