The AYLUS Lake Washington Branch successfully hosted six sessions of the AMC8 Prep Camp in January led by instructor Jiayi Joey Zhu, with assistance from Elissa Song, Xiao Mao, Kerui Xu.
day 2 On the 11th of January 2026, AYLUS’ Hand in Hand We Code (HHWC) project hosted its second AMC 8 Prep camp, with project lead Joey and TA Xiao. They did a walkthrough of basic AMC 8 practice problems, covering a variety of topics such as measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode), simple algebra, mathematical reasoning, fractions, max/min, and number sequences. The regular session was 1.5 hours long, and gave the students good insight into foundational mathematics. Jiayi also spent additional time on Q&A and homework correction.
