On Sunday, January 4th (10:00 AM – 1:30 PM), AYLUS Syosset and AYLUS Roslyn members jointly visited the CP Nassau residents at their Bayville location for the first time of 2026!
Volunteers started their days off by greeting the residents and spending time getting to know them, which helped create a warm and welcoming environment. Our first activity with the residents was bowling, and it quickly became a favorite because it allowed everyone to participate and have lots of fun together. Each resident was excited to play two to three times, and when it wasn’t their turn, they sat on the sidelines watching their friends, cheering them on, and laughing together. After bowling, we moved on to darts, which the residents also really enjoyed. Even though they were competing against many people and the game could be challenging, they all managed to win at least once, which brought huge smiles and a strong sense of accomplishment.
After all the excitement, we played Bingo, which was very fun and engaging for everyone. The residents were focused, enthusiastic, and clearly enjoying themselves as they waited to hear their numbers called. To end the day, we played Jeopardy on the WII, which brought a lot of energy and laughter to the room. The residents loved answering questions and playing Jeopardy, making it a perfect and memorable way to finish up a day full of fun.
