AYLUS Syosset Volunteers For Shirley Rainbow Foundation – 11/29/2025

On Saturday, November 29, 2025, AYLUS Syosset volunteers gathered with other volunteers from the community to help Shirley Rainbow Foundation(A Nonprofit organization), aim to help Zike, a current 10th grader in Syosset High School who grew up in a single parent family due to losing his father at the age of 7. His mother, this year, was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer, leading him to give up his team and scholarship to take care of her. No child his age should ever experience these pressures.

Around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, members gather up helping set up booths for food stalls, game rooms, and more. Kids were encouraged to sell/give away jewelry, children’s books, and stuffed animals that could bring a smile to strangers’ faces. Volunteer members helped sell food at the stalls like rice pudding, egg tarts, and cotton candy that were brought by the community. The rest of the volunteers were in the game rooms, setting up board games so that the children that were brought along stayed entertained. Many adults and children found this event wonderful and exciting leading to happy faces and stuffed stomachs.
