Today, September 16th, Great Neck AYLUS had another tutoring session at the Great Neck Station Library from 6-7 PM. Five volunteers took time out of their day to help elementary and middle school students with various assignments. Summer Lu spent time with a 4 year old— showing and teaching her shapes and colors. Janice Zhang helped an elementary student with math and english packets. She taught him new ways to solve problems. Brian Zhang helped a middle schooler with his math and ela homework. They even had some extra time to get a head start on classwork. Baiyu Chen helped a middle schooler with social studies homework and taught her effective annotations for a book she had to read. Emma Ding helped two elementary students. She helped one with numbers and basic math, and the other with ela homework. Even with more students than tutors, we still found a way to help everyone!
Overall this was a very productive day with everyone leaving with something new and complete assignments!
