On Saturday, August 30th, AYLUS Syosset went to a cerebral palsy home located in East Meadow. Individuals with cerebral palsy often have limited fine motor skills as well as speaking capabilities, but that doesn’t mean everyone is excited to engage in fun activities. Today, our volunteers brought over various hands-on crafts, card games, and color sheets. Members are constantly looking for new gizmos to add to the collection, and as we return, Garfield and Stitch scratch books were added, as well as basic sewing crafts. Afterwards, we all played a game of Uno for about 20 minutes. When all was clear and done, it was time to bake a cake. Everyone got to participate by either pouring in or mixing the ingredients together, and half an hour later, the cake came out of the oven. After cutting and serving, our group wrapped up another successful day.
