On August 16th and 17th 2025, 4 AYLUS members volunteered at the Special Special Olympics Summer Sports Classic Bocce 2025. Hannabella, Zachray, and Lucy were Bocce Pitch Assistants, who were taught how to ref games of bocce and assisted in the setup of games, score keeping, organizing a bracket, and, on one occasion, announcing during the awards assembly. Mingchi served as a Lunch Assistant, who served lunch to athletes and coaches. Overall, this was a meaningful experience as AYLUS members interacted with the athletes, learned how to play (and pronounce) bocce, and made many memories along the way. We thank Special Olympics MN for having us for this event, and hope to volunteer with them in the near future!
