On 6/23/2025, 3 members of the AYLUS Newtown branch assisted the Caring For Friends kitchen staff by helping prepare PB&J sandwiches to support low-income families and homeless communities. From 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, volunteers worked together to assemble meals, ensuring that every item was prepared with care and attention to detail.
Members participated in an assembly line, each tasked with different stages of the sandwich-making process, with different objectives during the volunteering period. Every member performed their task quickly and efficiently, working together to create the highest quantity of sandwiches to distribute within the local community without sacrificing quality. The teamwork and dedication of the volunteers helped streamline the process and ensured that the meals were ready for delivery to local shelters and food banks. In total, volunteers made 420 sandwiches, which will be distributed to the local community.
The event was highly successful, with volunteers showing strong collaboration and a shared commitment to helping the community. Everyone enjoyed the experience of working in the kitchen and contributing to Caring For Friends’ cause.
The 3 members of the AYLUS Newtown branch who participated were Diana Zhang (2.5 hours), Kylee Guo (2.5 hours), and Amber Yuan (2.5 hours).
