On June 7th, 2025, AYLUS Fairfax Branch partnered with the organization Pieces of Illumination to volunteer at the Autism Reimagined Center in Fairfax, Virginia. We assisted caretakers in spending time with children who have autism and gained a deeper understanding of the interests each kid displayed.
The Autism Reimagined Center is a specialized organization devoted to supporting children with autism and their families. The center creates a safe and structured environment, helping these children build life skills, enhance social interaction, and boost their confidence. Their work guides these children to become more prepared for the real world.
Along with Pieces of Illumination, we partnered with the Autism Reimagined Center to assist in their weekend program. Five AYLUS volunteers were paired one-on-one with young children, supporting sensory-friendly activities, engaging in guided play, and assisting caregivers and staff. Our team helped promote comfort, inclusion, and joy, and we hope to visit again in the future!
This event shows our commitment to inclusion and service within our local community. By supporting organizations like the Autism Reimagined Center, we continue our mission not only to help through hands-on activities but also to stand beside families and individuals who face challenges.
