Reported by Eric Huang #Hometown Sammamish Youth Action Group – Community Cleanup
Project (Event#1)
This May, we launched the Community Cleanup Project under the Hometown Sammamish Youth Action Group. As part of this initiative, we will organize a series of cleanup events in city parks, lakes, public spaces, and communities that need attention. We believe this project will contribute to reducing pollution, protecting wildlife, preserving the natural beauty of our surroundings, and fostering a greater sense of environmental responsibility.
On May 25, 2025, the AYLUS Lake Washington Branch organized the first community cleanup event in the Vintage and Renaissance Ridge communities of Sammamish. From 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM, branch members Eric Huang and Kevin Chen walked through the neighborhoods and parks, collecting a nearly full bag of garbage, sorting recyclables, and disposing of waste.
Vintage and Renaissance Ridge are two large communities where many families enjoy walking and cycling. We hope this cleanup event helps create a more pleasant and enjoyable environment for everyone in the neighborhood. Together, we strive to make our hometown a clean, vibrant, and beautiful place for everyone.
Branch members who participated in this event:
Eric Huang: 1.5 hrs
Kevin Chen: 1.5 hrs
Location: Sammamish Vintage/Renaissance Ridge Communities
