On April 15th, 2025, AYLUS Lake Washington Branch members Elissa Song, Kevin Chen, Jiayi Zhu(Joey), Wenjie Yan(Jacky), Haneesh Yalamanchili, and advisor Cici Sun volunteered at the Earth Day/Spring Break Planting Event at the Northeast Sammamish Park. During the two hour-long event, our members learned how to dig holes, plant plants, as well as how to use different gardening tools. Our members collectively planted around fifty plants of various sizes and species, which is a great accomplishment contributing to the Earth Day.
Our members utilized our teamwork and communicative skills to help plant new plants around the area with great enthusiasm and interest. We collectively acknowledge this activity as educational and fun, posing a unique opportunity to learn about the environment of our community and contribute positively. And this activity brings spring break a lot of special highlights.
Our branch members volunteered from 12:30pm to 2:30pm, contributing a total of 12 volunteer hours:
