On Friday 10/25/2024, 3 members of AYLUS taught students ranging from third-graders to ninth-graders in various math topics at the local Chinese school, the Newtown Yardley Chinese School. Lucas Zhang (Event Leader), Albert Chen, and Alex Hu participated, teaching from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.
Our volunteers taught two different classes, one for younger students and one for older students. During the teaching time, the older students went over the similar triangles, going through several difficult but interesting questions, engaging in AMC 10-level questions. The younger students went over basic competition math (first part of questions in Kangaroo math 2012 for Grades 3-4).
All 3 members had an enjoyable time teaching and felt that they had gotten through a considerable amount of content, positively impacting young students within the community by providing advanced math instruction and review.
