AYLUS Syosset Helps at CCE Farmers Market (10/12/24)

On 10/12/24, volunteers in Aylus Syosset went to Eisenhower Park to help in the Cornell Cooperative Extension Farmers Market.  The market’s purpose was to support local businesses and also to bring awareness to the benefits of eating fresh produce.  These businesses would sell locally made desserts, fresh produce, jams, candles and much more.

Starting from as early as 8:30 AM, volunteers helped set up the CCE tents which had a table for fun activities such as word searches, coloring sheets and a gardening activity for the kids and a table for information on the whole event.  Throughout the morning, volunteers stood at the informational tent, welcoming visitors and also at the activities tent, helping the kids with their worksheets or coloring pages.  It was an extremely windy day and the tents had to be taken down but the volunteers still worker through the entire market and closed up nicely.
