On 8/6/2024 and 8/8/2024, AYLUS Great Neck hosted two more tutoring sessions for students in the Great Neck Library Station Branch from 4:30pm-6:00 pm.
On 8/6/2024 our volunteers Zhaoxi Chen, Yuhao (Henry) Xu, Kylie Lam and Sophia Li collectively tutored students at the Great Neck Library. Henry and Zhaoxi helped tutor pre-algebra topics such as areas and volumes of geometric shapes, slope-intercept form of linear equations, and word problems. Kylie and Sophia collectively tutored mandarin in pin yin, reading, and writing, and Algebra I through a work book of word problems.
On 8/8/2024 Aylus held another session in the library with one of the largest groups for the recent months. Four volunteers Zhaoxi Chen, Xingzhi Li, Kylie Lam and Sophia Li as well as four middle school students all engaged in various group or individual activities. Two participants communicated with each other as well as Sophia Li and Zhaoxi Chen on math works for the whole session. Kylie Lam helped another participant uses the time to finish other works that have to be done before roaming to find some literature materials. Xingzhi Li helped the final participant worked on some math before resorting to reading for the rest of the session. This session is a very productive one compared to the rest.
