On Sunday, November 18, 2018, 9 members of East Cobb Young Musicians ranging from piano players to violin players played for many senior citizens. The young musicians went to Alto Senior Living Center and Sunrise Senior Living Center. They played at two senior centers for one hour each and the senior citizens thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
When we arrived at Sunrise Senior Living, the seniors were impatient to hear us play and applauded everyone when they played their solo pieces. When we left, they asked when we will come again and one of us responded, “Very soon!” (Actually, we started our holiday season performance at Sunrise on Nov 20).
When we entered Alto Senior Living Center, the seniors were noticeably happy about us coming to play for them. When we were playing, the senior citizens were very kind and cheered everyone as they played. When we left, they said good-bye and asked when we would come again.
Some pieces that were played included but are not limited to Butterfly Concerto, Chopin’s Nocturne Op. 48 No. 1, Amazing Grace, and Vivaldi Concerto in G Major.
Attendances: Asad Yamin(2 hours), Nathan Hsu(1 hour), Susanna Huang(2 hours), Selina Huang(2 hours), Raymond Jiang(2 hours), Maxwell Jiang(2 hours), David Qu(1 hour), Rachel Li(2 hours)
