On 6/30/24, AYLUS Great Neck volunteered at the farmers market at Firefighter’s Park. AYLUS Great Neck had a table at the farmers market to raise funds for CP Nassau. From 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, our volunteers engaged in various activities. Some volunteers arrived early to arrange the table at the beginning of the day, ensuring it looked appealing and welcoming for visitors. The setup involved presenting our handmade products, which included a variety of bracelets, lego creations, crotcheted goods, and paper flowers, all meticulously handmade by our members. There was also a Lego table that attracted numerous kids and allowed our volunteers to communicate with kids and parents about AYLUS. Throughout the event, our volunteers actively promoted and sold these items to the customers, discussing the purpose of our fundraising efforts and providing information about AYLUS and the services we offer. Moreover, our volunteers communicated to our clients about our Chipotle fundraiser to be held the next day and heavily encouraged them to go to support AYLUS. By the conclusion of the event, we had successfully raised over $300 through sales and donations.
In addition, we added the handcrafted making time into the final volunteer hours.
