Murrieta AYLUS Helps Local Food Bank (50th) (6/7/2024)

Reported by Hsin Chen(Julie) Lu :

On June 7th, 2024, Murrieta AYLUS members helped out at their local food bank, the Community Mission of Hope. The members got there early before opening time to help set up. They started with sorting boxes of bread onto the bread racks before moving on to bagging frozen meats. Members continued to work on these tasks until the supervisor called for the pre-opening meeting. Then, they started working on packing food boxes for distribution. Usually, each box would get one frozen meat, but since they were low on deli items, the volunteers were instructed to place two meats in each box. After the meats came the produce, the bread then the dessert. Members also helped with receiving, weighing, and sorting food donations as they came in.
