On October 7th, 2023, Murrieta AYLUS members went to help set up for the Susan G. Komen Pink Walk.
Murrieta AYLUS members first started by setting up the tents. Each tent would serve a different purpose. Then, they were given the task of putting up Mary the Mannequin. They took out the body parts of the mannequin and had lots of fun putting it together. When they were done, they went to a different tent to help set it up. They used large covers to surround the tent. Then, they got some lights and put it around the whole tent. They also got some ribbons to decorate the tent in. They would tie the tip of the ribbon on one of the poles of the tent and let the rest hang down. Later, during the walk, people would put their favorite memories of their loved ones on the ribbon. Members took a quick water break and then rode in the golf cart around handing out supplies to other tents and workers there. Finally, they took a lunch break and walked around. After lunch, members started to unload boxes of materials for one of the tents. They also helped set up the displays. Then, they unloaded all the tables that the people with tents would need. After, they went around and used table covers to cover the tables. Members then went to the far side of the lawn, took zip ties and the boards, and tied the boards to the fences. Then, they took a black Sharpie and wrote the cost of money each team raised on each board. When they finished, members went through all their work and were very satisfied with it.
