3/30/24 Great Neck clears invasive bamboo at Valley Stream State Park

On Saturday, March 30, the Great Neck Branch of AYLUS visited the Valley Stream State Park. Their goals every Saturday are to help out at state parks which may include getting rid of invasive species of plants, which was bamboo this week. They helped to clear the area of invasive bamboo which is a plant that grows really fast. There were about 30 volunteers from the Great Neck Branch alone this week, so this project was done very efficiently. There were volunteers that helped to cut down the bamboo using large clippers.
