Murrieta AYLUS Helps Local Food Bank (46th) (4/4/2024)

Reported by Jessica Lu :

On April 4th, 2024, Murrieta AYLUS members helped their local food bank.
Members started by sorting through the bread boxes. The boxes had an assortment of different types of breads and desserts. Members thouroughly went through the boxes, putting each grain product/dessert in their section. After, members brought the empty boxes to break down and throw in the recycling bin. Then, they brought out the meat boxes and started packaging them. In each bag, members put one meat in it and then put it in another spare box. Members repeated the cycle until all the meat boxes were packaged and ready to be put in food boxes. After, there was a morning meeting and then members went outside to give out food. Members quickly found their job outside and dillengtly performed their tasks. They would put some extra items in the food boxes such as bottles of juice and different types of milk. Members gave out food until it was time to clean up. They mopped the floor, moved the equipment into the dry food area, and wiped down all surfaces that had come in contact with food.
