Riverside County AYLUS Members Create Origami Heart Cards for Seniors on February 4th and 8th, 2024

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, RCA members wanted to create handmade Valentine’s Day cards for the seniors of a local Assisted Living home. They prepared the cardstock by cutting it into the right size and shape. The group proceeded then to fold the rectangular ones into cards. After watching an instructional video, the group got to work and started to fold origami hearts out of colored paper squares. The hearts were then taped onto the cards and the cards decorated with additional artwork and text on the outside. Our member Michael Brown added a stick to his cards that he had cut into heart shapes in order to stick them into the succulent pots. These cards will be completed in a second session and then donated to a local senior care home together with some succulent arrangements the group has worked on.
