AYLUS Bellaire volunteered to clean up Evelyn’s Park on October 22, 2023

On October 22, 2023, members of the AYLUS Bellaire branch walked around Evelyn’s Park Conservancy on Bellaire Boulevard in Bellaire, TX, searching for and picking up trash there.

There was a “Walkin and Rollin” event in Evelyn’s park on October 22. There were unusually heavy loads of trash after the event. From 5:30pm to 6:30pm, volunteer members found trash items ranging from plastic straws and balloon scraps to tissues and napkins. Members walked through the East Parking Court, Evelyn’s Memorial Garden, the restaurant area, both playground subdivisions, the center picnic fields, sidewalk linings, and other places behind rocks and bushes. During this cleanup, members of AYLUS also assisted in after party checks and helped others to clean up their stations who were at the party. In total, volunteers collected one X-Large Black Heavy Duty Trash Bag and six regular plastic bags, each weighing about 3 to 5 pounds. After the session, volunteers were treated to hot dogs and fries by the park staff.

8 volunteers participated in this event (1 hour): Shaun Israni, Alexander Tang, Jason Chen, Zhen Li, Daniel Wu, Owen Cheng, Chase Sun and Raymond Han

Thank you to our volunteers for helping Evelyn’s Park stay clean!
