AYLUS Bellaire held a fundraising event and helped the student ceremony at Houston Dragon Academy on August 16, 2023

On August 16, 2023, members of the AYLUS Bellaire helped set up and take down a ceremony at Houston Dragon Academy (HDA) and did some fundraising afterwards.

Volunteers first helped set up the projectors and clear out the church for the Houston Dragon Academy to hold their ceremony. They set up banners, flowers, and the stage.

Then, from 6:00 PM to around 8:30 PM, volunteers sold boba milk tea and snacks at HDA during their end of summer event. The boba milk tea sold for $5 each and snacks were $1 each. A group of

volunteers were in charge of setting up the table, while another was in charge of selling.

Unfortunately, the end of summer event held at HDA did not allow food or drinks to enter the

performance area, which was where most of the people were. Therefore, there were few customers until the event ended, which was at around 7:45 PM. The boba milk tea was the most popular item overall.

Afterwards, volunteers helped to return bibles back to church, moved plants and tables back to places and took everything they set up down. Volunteers gathered all the trash left behind and brought it to the dumpster. There were many cups and empty pizza boxes. In total, there were about 5-8 bags filled with trash.

The volunteers participated in this event (6:00-9:00pm, total 3 hours): Alexander Tang, Yuruo Shen, Eric Li, Ryan Li, Valerie Yu, Daniel Wu, Isabel Li, Andrew Chen, Daniel Chan, Andrew Liu, Andy Shen, Zhen Li, Owen Cheng
