On Sunday July 30, 2023, AYLUS Pearland continued their chess classes designed to improve the players’ skill of chess. The lessons also included new teachers Kevin and Katherine.
The students started the class with a lecture about the development of pieces and how to gain
an early lead with pieces. The students were also introduced to the concept of tempo and how to use it to an advantage. Two teachers, Marc and Kevin also introduced two openings that would demonstrate the importance of piece development. The second half of the class, the students were able to demonstrate their understanding of these concepts by playing each other.
Overall, the class was a success, and the students enjoyed their classes.
