North Fulton AYLUS donates handmade gifts to Kits to Hearts on April 8 and 9, 2023

“Small acts of kindness

is the universal language of the world.”

         -unknown.

On April 8th and 9th, North Fulton organized our first volunteering activity where members worked together to hand make gifts for donation to Kits to Heart’s care packages for cancer patients.

Starting from early in the afternoon to late at night, the team worked assiduously to transform sheets of fabric and paper into beautiful patterned masks and cute origami bears. To make the masks, we had to prepare materials, measure and cut fabric, sew the masks, add adjustable straps, and complete touch ups and quality checks—making revisions when needed. In the end, we had an amazing total of 50 fabric masks and 25 pieces of origami, which were mailed out on the 13th.

We know that battling cancer can be physically and mentally exhausting, so we contributed these gifts to Kits to Hearts’ care packages, which we hope will help the cancer patients feel cared for, supported, and more comfortable during their treatment journey.

So, with small acts of kindness as our universal language, we wish to remind those battling cancer that they are not alone and that there are people who support them; thus, we hope that the colorful gifts will bring them smiles and support their brave fight against cancer!
