Bellaire volunteered at Nature Discovery Center on April 2, 2023

The Nature Discovery Center is a local nature park dedicated to preserving local wildlife and leading educational programs that ignite an appreciation for nature among all ages.
On Sunday, April 2, 2023, the AYLUS Bellaire Branch volunteered at the Nature Discovery Center for a monthly gardening and path maintenance from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM.
Volunteers were split into three groups. The first group worked along the paths weeding out sticky weeds along the edges of the park. Members combed the 4-acre park, going off the trails to pick through the undergrowth to pull out weeds. The second group worked on the paths and concrete areas of the park to rake leaves out of the way and relocate them on the dirt paths of the park. Members used rakes and shovels to collect and transport the leaves which were then spread out evenly to cover the dirt paths. The third group picked up trash in the park.
After finishing their respective tasks, volunteers then spent the last half hour weeding out the rest of the park, clearing weeds from the bench area and front of the park building.
The following volunteers participated in this event (2 hours): Alexander Tang, Samantha Yu, Valerie Yu, Isabel Li, Jason Deng, Raymond Han, Helena Wang, Albert Ying, Daniel Chan, Emerald Tang, Andrew Liu, Feifan Liu, Shreyas Sinha.
