Murrieta AYLUS Helps Local Food Bank (5th) (9/10/2022)

Reported by Adora Xiao :

On September 10, 2022, AYLUS Murrieta members Trisha Leungsikul, Jessica Lu, Hsin Chen(Julie) Lu, and Adora Xiao helped a local food bank.

Arriving at the food bank with a light drizzle, the members immediately got to work with the food aisles. They wiped down drinks, cereals, and candies at lightning speed, tossing the unlabeled drinks and open boxes into the cart to be disposed of later. They admired the large collections of mac and cheese and varieties of cereals, before moving on to the toiletries section.

While wiping, members realized the toiletries section was, in fact, not merely toiletries. Some buckets on the shelves contained granola bars or different small packets of candies. The members wiped around the different hand sanitizers, stationary items, beauty care products, and more, taking extra care of the corners. They then moved on to the clothing section, rearranging the area and folding the clothes aesthetically. Finally, they stopped by the flower section, selecting some to be gifted to firefighters working hard to combat the local fires.
